Another Name - > jade-albite
Hardness -> 6-7 on the Mohs scale, can be scratched
Clarity -> translucent to opaque.
Technically a rock,not mineral
In 1963, first identified by Swiss gemologist Dr. Eduard Gubelin.
First found in the famous jade mining region of TawMAW in the Himalayan foothills of northwestern Burma ( Myanmar ).

This green GemStone has dark-green to black veins or black mottled spots.
Composed different minerals, like kosmochlor [ sodium chromium pyroxene, ureyite ( means "green from outer space" since the mineral was found originally in meteorites], chrome jadeite & albite feldspar, chromite. symplektite, chrome amphibole & other lighter minerals.
About 60% of maw-sit-sit is made up of kosmochlor ( primary component of the brilliant green emerald & the dark green-black patches )
Chromium-enriched jadeite ( 15% of the total material made with this secondary component )
